Why pavers beat poured concrete here

Concrete on the Emerald Coast cracks. The sand under it moves, tree roots lift it, and once it cracks there is no good repair. Interlocking pavers flex with the ground instead of fighting it. If a section ever settles, we lift the pavers, rebuild the base and set the same stones back, and the repair is invisible. Pavers also drain better in the summer storms we get every year, stay cooler under bare feet, and give you patterns and colors that concrete cannot.

How we build a driveway that lasts

Every job starts with excavation to the depth the soil calls for, usually deeper on beach lots than inland. We lay geotextile fabric where the sand is loose, then compact crushed limestone base in lifts with a plate compactor until it will not move. Bedding sand is screeded flat, pavers are laid in the chosen pattern, edges are locked with restraint, and the joints are swept with polymeric sand that hardens against weeds, ants and washout. A sealer finishes the job and brings out the color.

Patios and walkways

Patios get the same base as driveways, scaled to the load. We size them for how you live: a dining table and grill, a fire pit with seating, a path from the driveway to the back gate. Walkways are laid to protect tree roots and to shed water away from the house. Borders, soldier courses and inlays give a plain patio a finished edge.

Materials we work with

Concrete pavers in dozens of colors and shapes, clay brick for traditional homes and the 30A towns, travertine and marble for a resort look, large-format porcelain for modern designs, and natural stone and cobble for courtyards. We bring samples to the site so you can see them against your house in real light.

Repairs and resets

Sunken sections, spreading patterns, weeds in the joints and faded color are all fixable. We lift and reset settled areas, re-sand and re-seal tired surfaces, and replace broken pavers with matching stock. Ask for a repair estimate before you assume the whole patio has to go.
